Waaykot’s house

2020

Yucatán,

Final work project for the Master’s Degree in Conservation of Architectural Heritage at the Autonomous University of Yucatan, Mexico.
The Wáaykot House, built between the final decades of the 18th century and the first decades of the 19th century, is in an advanced state of structural deterioration as a result of its prolonged abandonment.
The conservation of the historical architectural structure was at the center of the proposal. The original finishes and color palette were rescued, contrasting with the white and metal of the new structures added to the walls and roofs, respectively.
The recovery of the landscaping of the extensive outdoor areas that complement the property was also attempted.
